We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team in Zagreb, Croatia.
Key role responsibilities:
- Daily bookkeeping activities (incoming invoicing, bank statements, inventories, journal entries)
- Participate in the monthly and annual closing.
- Compute taxes and prepare tax returns (VAT preparation).
- Prepare monthly Accruals/Deferrals/Provisions.
- Review Journal Entries.
- Reconcile Subledgers.
- Fixed Assets management.
- Good knowledge of the local tax legislation (e.g. VAT, corporate income tax, payroll tax and other taxes).
- Prepare on-demand various reports for the local organization and the Group.
- Prepare mandatory statistical reports (CNB, CBS).
- Participation in annual audits.
- Participation in the local implementation of the Group's financial policies/rules.
- Processing vendor payments and collection from customers.
- Perform internal controls and other related duties as assigned.
- Close cooperation with Finance Manager and Country Leader.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
- MS Office (Excel-advanced, Word), SAP S4/HANA (FI, CO, RE-FX)
- Solid understanding of local GAAP and international (IFRS/IAS) accounting standards and principles
- High flexibility and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Analytical skills
- Communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of the organization
- Strong attention to the details and confidentiality
- Payroll knowledge will be appreciated.
- Knowledge of MS Office (advanced Excel).
- Fluency in Croatian and English language.
