About the job:

On this position, the candidate will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of ETL processes for data processing and transformation in various environments, including on-premise and cloud databases and DWH. Data Engineer also participates in the development of data architecture for machine learning models, designs data pipelines and provides technical assistance to data scientists. 

In addition, he or she will deal with data collection, structuring and cleaning, and administers databases and DWH (Oracle, Firebird SQL, Snowflake, Hbase, S3). It also maintains cloud services (AWS, Oracle cloud) and develops tools for data integration and visualization.

Technical skills: 

• ETL: design, develop, and implement ETL jobs and streaming processes required to ingest and transform data in the cloud environment. 

• Static data: architect and flood static data models to enable the development of ML and other statistical models. 

• Streaming data: design and create data ingestion pipelines to consume external data. 

• Exploration and feature engineering: assist data scientists in data exploration, data visualization, and feature engineering. 

• Data assets: participate in data collection, collation, structuring and cleaning. Maintain data quality through statistical control. 

• Data architecture tools/platforms: SQL (NoSQL, MySQL), Oracle, Firebird SQL, Snowflake, Hbase (Hadoop), S3 

• Development and maintenance of cloud services: AWS, Oracle cloud 

• Develop tools that support access, integration, modeling and visualizing of data. 

Business & Project Management skills: 

• Business intuition: understand links between available data schema, modeling choices and business considerations.

• Problem solving: fierce curiosity, strong analytical skills and strong sense of ownership. 

• Collaboration: build a sense of trust and rapport that creates a comfortable & effective workplace and an ability to work as part of an agile team (product owner, developers, etc.). 

• Team development: taking an active role in coaching new joiners and junior staff, contributing to knowledge development (e.g., tools and code base). 

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant field of study 

• 2+ years of work experience in the field of data engineering 

• Good knowledge of SQL and Python 

• Advanced knowledge of Excel

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

• Exceptional attention to detail and multitasking 

• Ability to work independently and in a team 

• Ability to take an active role in teaching new members 

• Experienced English language user
